Ready or not Idaho, here we come. Almost exactly one year after deciding to incorporate the Red Scarlet-X into our camera arsenal, we have decided to move up to the Scarlet’s big brother the Epic-X. This move was decided after witnessing the tremendous demand both locally and regionally for cinema quality, ultra high definition, production services. You are probably thinking, “what does this mean to your clients?” What this means, is less technological barriers and more creative freedom which will lead to even higher quality products for our clients. The mindset and culture over at Red Digital Cinema is a perfect match for ours and we are extremely excited to grow alongside them as video production evolves. The bottom line is, yet again, CreativeWave has brought the highest level of production technology to Idaho and made it available at a price that isn’t just within reach, but affordable. For the technophiles amongst you, I have highlighted some of the main features from the Epic-X below.

5K Resolution

As you can see from the chart above, 5k is significantly larger than 4k and it absolutely dwarfs HD.

High Frame Rates & Slow Motion

The Epic-X is capable of capturing up to 300 frames per second, this is approximately 1/12 speed slow motion.

5K HDRx

18+ Stops of available dynamic range at optimal cinema resolutions.

Higher Quality Compression Settings

The ultimate in visually lossless compression settings will now be available for use.
